Who are my top 5 favorite football players?

1. Doug Flutie. From 1992 to 1995, Flutie was the most dominant regular season quarterback that I’ve seen play for the Stampeders. In 1992, the Stampeders won 13 / 18 games. In 1993 and 1994, the Stampeders won 15 / 18 games. Flutie consistently found a way to win regular season games.

2. Jeff Garcia. In 1995, it was amazing that the Stampeders won 15 / 18 games after Flutie was injured halfway through the season. Garcia’s first Labor Day game was incredible when he threw 546 yards passing along with 6 touchdowns.

3. Henry Burris. Burris was inconsistent at times. When he played well, his teammates called him “Hank”. When he played poorly, his teammates called him “Frank”. Burris had an excellent season in 2008 when he won the Grey Cup.

4. Allen Pitts. Pitts was extraordinary in 1994 when he caught 2,036 yards receiving along with 21 touchdowns. During his career from 1990 to 2000, Pitts was consistently the best receiver on the Stampeders.

5. Jon Cornish. Cornish had an amazing season in 2014 when he won the CFL rushing title with 1,082 yards rushing in only 9 games. Since Cornish took over as the starting running back in 2012, he’s become the best running back in the Canadian Football League.
